Our Own Consequences - April 23, 2006

Scripture: Romans 1:24-32

This Sunday we will be back in Romans after spending two Sundays focusing on the events of Holy Week which lead us to Easter. In this week's verses from Romans, Paul continues with his discourse on the consequences of sin. He asserts that God allows us to make our own decisions and allows us to choose ourselves over Him - and with God out of the picture, the sinful choices keep growing. These verses also deal with the delicate issue of sexuality, a topic that is at the forefront of religious discussion in our day. Please take time to read and meditate on these verses before you come to e:ncounter this Sunday.

Questions to ponder:
How is our society like the Romans that Paul was writing to?
What should our response be to the increase of sexuality in our culture?
What is the Biblical view on homosexuality?

Lectionary Scriptures for the 2nd Sunday of Easter
Acts 4:32-35
Psalm 133
I John 1:1-2:2
John 20:19-31
